Who the 3 mm jute twine suits
A good fit when
A tomato plant heavy with fruit needs a tie that holds and does not bite. This twine is 3 mm thick and soft, so it carries the stem without cutting in.
Each spool holds 328 feet. Natural brown comes singly or as a pack of two. Green and red come singly. At the end of the season the jute goes on the compost heap with the plants.
Know before you buy
- Jute rots outdoors. Expect one season from a garden tie, which is the point.
- It is not for cooking.
- Keep it away from open flame.

I was expecting this to be thicker. It's not 3mm and I was going to send it back but decided to try it. I'm glad I did. It's much stronger than the twine of similar diameter I used previously.
